General
ETA 17 October 2017: I love this sweater! It’s incredibly light and just warm enough. And it seems to get softer each time I wash it.
Body slightly longer and same length back and front. Sleeves with three eyelet sections for cuffs instead of colourwork.
MC Aubergine, CC1 Sunshine, CC2 Clementine, CC3 Burnt Orange
Using 3mm needles for plain stockinet, 3.25mm for colourwork rows, 2.75 for eyelet sections on yoke and 2.5 for eyelet section at bottom edge. I’m knitting tighter on DPNs so for the sleeves I’m using 3.25 for plain stockinet, 3.5 for colourwork, and 2.75 for eyelet sections on cuff.
Had to unravel the first increase round since I misunderstood the numbers of st inbetween the increases. I’ve never seen this way to count st with lifted increases before.

Mods
- using German shortrows (double-stitch) instead of YO,
- neckline: was too wide so picked up 6 of every 7 st (116 st) and immediately bound off to firm it up a bit.
- yoke: 4 rows instead of 3 between colourwork & eyelets; after last eyelet section knit 5 rows then 1 row where I increased 6 st in each sleeve section followed by 4 more rows before separating the sleeves,
- provisional cast-on for underarm st, 16 in each side = total for body 264 st,
- body: moved BOR to right side; want a more pronounced a-line so starting on the row before the first colourwork section I made increases every 8th row 6 times and then every 16th row 1 time = 292 st; knitted 50 plain rows then started with eyelet sections.
- sleeves: picked up 1 extra st on each side of provisional CO, 18 + 68 = 86st; after colourwork rounds 1 more decrease on the 16th round = 78 st left; then decreased every 7th row 13 times = 52 st left; ended with same 3 eyelet sections as on body.
Timeline
2017-05-07: Hmm, I think the neck opening is a bit too wide after all.
2017-05-08: Fixed neck opening. It might have become a little too narrow though, might have to unravel last eyelet section and decrease round.
2017-05-09: Reknit the neck opening again. Still not certain if I like it.
2017-05-10: One more try at making the perfect neck opening…
2017-05-12: Separated the sleeves and continued on the body.
2017-05-21: Took a break from the body and started on the right sleeve.
2017-05-26: Grrr!! The sleeve turned out far too wide even though I thought I’d compensated enough for my thin wrist! I’m going to have to unravel almost two-thirds and start over
2017-05-28: Unraveled and started over :sigh:
2017-05-30: Finished right sleeve and started on the left.
2017-06-05: Finished second sleeve and started on the body again.
2017-06-15: Finally started on body’s eyelet sections.
2017-06-16: Finished! Washed and waiting for it to dry.
