Using leftover yarn to make mittens matching this hat & this cowl.
I’d almost forgotten how nice Incawool is to knit with. It’s soft but sturdy, doesn’t split (at least not using bamboo needles) and stands up well to unraveling. The only fault is a tendency to shed a bit while knitting.

Mods

• Using the slipstitch pattern from Punto Hat. (Main difference is that the rows in-between the pattern is done in plain stockinet.)
• Added a whole pattern repeat before putting the gusset on safety pins.
• Three pattern repeats before starting with decreases as in the hat pattern. Decreased until 14 st left, 2tog last row.
• Two and a half pattern repeats before the decreases on the thumb.

Timeline
2015-09-03: Too tight and compact with 4mm needles. Unraveled and changed to 4.5mm.
2015-09-06: Grrrr! They’re almost certainlt too narrow for the intended recipient. I’m going to have to unravel and start over again. I don’t feel like doing math so I’m going try with 5mm needles first and see if that makes enough difference.
2015-09-10: Finished the right mitt.
2015-09-18: Started on the left mitt.
2015-09-21: Finished the knitting. Soaked and blocked.
