Very simple and straightforward pattern. (Except the one mistake in row 3 mentioned by many.) I didn’t end up with too many plates, instead I’d to make a couple more of the two smallest sizes.
Since I don’t have enough of any one colour I’ll make him striped with red plates.
Used 12mm red safety eyes from my stash.
The result is adorable!

Mods

• Using lifted increases instead of kfb.
• Followed this example and made the body & tail slightly longer: Knitted 6 more rows at the middle of the back and 2 more after row 82 and after row 90.
• Followed this example and knitted the legs & plates directly onto the body. (Used a crochet hook to pick up stitches.)
• Stuffed all plates slightly and placed them D, C, B, A, A, A, B, C, C, D, D + 2 spikes at the end.
