Using Grumperina's method for cabling without a cable needle.

Wasn’t happy with the look of the stranded section on the first sock so frogged it toda and started over from start of leg chart. Looks like I no longer need to use larger needles for stranded colourwork even on small circumferences.

Mods

• using another CDD (sl2kw sl1kw k3togtbl),
• leg as pattern,
• heelflap 32 r plain stockinet decreasing 1 st on first r, round heel,
• picked up 19 st on each side for gussets and knit through the backloop on the next r, moved 1 st on each side srom instep to sole, decreased every third r until 42 st left on sole (disregarding arch shaping) and then every second r until 32 st left (ditto),
• started arch shaping on tenth r from heel turn decreasing the sixth st from the centre on each side every sixth r three times and then increased in the same way three times,
• foot chart A + chart B twice + chart C r 1-13 + r 2-13 twice + r 2-3,
• toe with CC, decreased every third r until 32 st left - decreasing 1 extra st on the instep on the first r - and then every second r until 8 left, cut yarn and pulled through.
