Using Grumperina's method for cabling without a cable needle.

No need to move the stitches to the right needle and back again for the lift-kyok manoeuvre. It’s just as easy to do on the left needle.

• leg Chart B r 1-12 five times + r 1-5,
• heelflap 36 r stockinet over 32 st, round heel,
• gussets picked up 21+1 st on each side, decreased every third r until 32 st left on sole,
• instep (k1 + Chart D + Chart B + Chart D = 32 st) Chart D r 1-20 three times + r 1-14 & Chart B r 6-12 + 1-12 five times + r 1-7,
• toe decreased every second r until 28 st left then every r until 8 left,
• mirrored second sock.
