General
ETA 28 July 2018: Never felt really at ease in this so I’m sending it to the recycling centre.
- Lovely fit over the shoulders though I should maybe have made it 3-4cm smaller across. It’s a tiny bit too large. Not enough to want to unravel and start again from the beginning however.
- Love the yarn. Due to the structure, and probably also the polyester, it wasn’t as unforgiving to knit with as cotton usually is and it seems to retain its shape very well. Not the most comfortable to wear nearest the skin but the sparkles more than make up for that :-)
Mods
- Knitting front and back at the same time. Slipping first stitch on each row.
- No garterstitch. Made the armscye 19.5cm.
- Waist & hip shaping inspired by this: On the second round start decreasing - 4st like in the pattern (k2tg+ssk+k2tg+ssk) - every second round 8 times, every third round 4 times, fourth round 1 time, and fifth round 2 times. 180 stitches. Knit 15 rounds. On the 16th round start increasing - 4st in the same places as the decreases - every third round a total of 10 times, and fourth row 1 time. 224 stitches.
- Knit 12 rounds. Cast off.
Timeline
2015-03-23: I’m not used to making increases on every row so I’d to unravel and restart twice before they looked at least acceptable. I’m still not entirely happy with them. My usual way of doing them (knitting in the stitch below) looks so much neater!
2015-03-31: Knot in one skein.
2015-04-04: Didn’t like the look of the garterstitch band so had to unravel 26 rows and start again with plain stockinet. (Why do I always pick up the wrong leg?!)
2015-04-09: Finished knitting! Washing and blocking still to do.
