Using Grumperina's method for cabling without a cable needle.

To make a nice unbroken garter ridge at the edge between body’s sides and bottom slip the first st after the purled round.

Used purple wool battings from my stash.

Mods

• using ordinary stockinet instead of reversed stockinet on both hat and body,
• using lifted increases,
• knit body a total of 14 r shorter, used old beads to make it bottom heavy,
• started beard on r 5, slipped first & last st on WS r and knit them on RS r,
• modified hands & arms to fit a shorter body,
• nose as pattern,
• cat body mostly as pattern but only 4 st for tail.
