Mods

• Cast on 40 stitches - removed the last X from the larger pattern stripe.
• For turn-in knitted 13 rows, changed to larger needle and knitted 1 row, purled row 15.
• Didn’t start with thumb gusset until after pattern. Used the same gusset as in Computer mitts but stopped at 16 stitches. Knitted 2 more rows before putting the gusset stitches on safetypins.
• Knitted 10 rows with MC before starting pattern.
• Turn-in at top 1 row with larger needles + 11 with smaller.
• Picked up 4 more stitches for the thumb = 20 stitches. Knitted 7 rows in MC, 1 row CC + 1 row MC + 1 row CC + 1 row MC. Purled 1 row. 1 more row with larger needles + 4 with smaller for turn-in.

Timeline
2014-09-12: Oh dear, I’m going to have to unravel and restart this. It’s far too big. I must have counted wrong on the swatch I made.
2014-09-13: Unraveled and re-started. Cast on 39 stitches this time.
2014-09-14: I’m really terrible at simple math - I should have cast on 40 stitches, not 39. And the Zauberball won’t be enough for both mitts. Ended up unraveling all the colourwork and restarting with another yarn + increasing one stitch on the first CC row.
2014-09-17: Finished first mitt.
2014-09-18: Started second mitt.
2014-09-23: Finished second mitt. Washed and blocked.
