December 2016 :: I just found out Alex is in remission!! Thanks soooo much to everyone who gave some of their time & heart to this little boy!

many hands, many needles, much yarn & an abundance of compassion ~ this is a knitalong in the truest sense of the word…

January 6, 2014 - A friend’s 8 year old son was just diagnosed with Lymphoma over the holidays and she asked if I would knit him a beanie when his chemo started yesterday ~ he’s really upset that his hair is going to fall out.

Of course I said yes & and my husband immediately grabbed the first Seahawks skull hat I made him and informed me it is too small & he never wears it and would like to give it to Alex. (I did wash it since it’s been worn once but it’s basically brand new).

And one hat is turning into many ~ the kindness of my Ravelry friends is overwhelming…a few of them have offered to whip out beanies and send them to me to put in a care package for Alex in the next couple weeks ~ I’m making at least one or two more and so far 6 more are being worked on across the country to include in his care package ~ I think mom will be overwhelmed and I think Alex will be warm and more importantly confident, and wrapped in hugs from near and far. Thanks dear friends ~ I’m glad I reached out to you. Your kindness and willingness to drop everything to help this poor little guy out has made me speechless. ‘Thank you’ just doesn’t cut it for how I feel.

Alex has a 22” head/small adult size
