I’ve been wanting to try this yarn for a long time!

I’m alternating skeins of the MC on the left front of the garment so that the goofy stitches that may result will be hidden under the right side’s button holes when buttoned. Ideally, the edges will curl enough that no goofy stitches are noticeable at all, but I am playing it safe. I’m absolutely in love with this color combo and the yarn!

I just almost unraveled 18” of this trench because I obviously cannot count and also apparently can’t read the schematic measurements. The good news is that I didn’t! I can get my missing stitches in and I can now read the schematic. Lesson-learned: count, count, count, recount, recount, recount. :P Oh, and read very, very carefully before measuring.

I’m about halfway through the hood and thinking I don’t have enough yarn for the sleeves and pockets. :S Otherwise, the pattern is amazing and the garment looks gorgeous! My only complaint would be how awkward it’s getting to knit the hood with the whole sweater hanging off my needles. Turning isn’t so easy. I sort of dread the sleeves.

The sleeves weren’t so bad once I got the hang of them. I will post photos of how I sewed the facings down, but it was the same way I sew shoulder seams together. It looks perfect on both sides of the work. I used every inch of the 17 MC skeins! I was afraid I’d have to break into #18, but I lucked out. It’s really, really pretty! It’ll be a shame to mail it off….
