The yarn seems to be leaving less blue residue on my hands this time around. I have traces of charcoal on my hands, so I can’t tell if my hands are dirty because of the yarn or my art project. Probably a little of both.
Picked this one up after a far too long hiatus. It requires more attention than you would think. I’m going to have to mark my rows down as I do them or I’ll inevitably lose my spot. :P I can’t wait to wear it! It’ll be a great spring staple.
I’m starting to wonder if I shouldn’t have made a size larger. I also wonder if I have enough yarn to make a larger size….
Finished the front and back, compared them, and one side of each piece is too short. We’re talking inches shorter. It’s the purl {SSS} that seems to be much tighter than the knit {SSS}. I’m not a fan of this particular slip stitch selvedge anyway, but now that it’s thrown off my measurements so much, I really dislike it. :P I’m going to block the pieces and pray to the knitting gods for help on this one.
Currently blocking. the tight side stretched out okay, but the looser side is really loose. :P I knit the xs, but blocked to the s measurements easily. I should get a very loose-fitting, draping fabric in the slightly larger size I had hoped for. Yay! The yarn took several rinses to come out mostly clear. I’m going to have to wash it again after I do all the ribbing, so I didn’t bother spending another half an hour trying to rinse all the dye out. This yarn is becoming less and less beautiful to me. I really hope I can get it to rinse clear eventually because I won’t wear it if I think it’s going to leave blue on everything it touches.
Had just enough yarn to finish it up! I have to wet block it again and see if I can get all the excess dye out of it. I hope it fits perfectly and looks great and turns out to be everything I had hoped for!
Named fr one of my favorite childhood songs by Kenny Loggins. It just feels like the perfect sweater to wear while exploring the 100 Acre Wood.
