Wiktionary (the authority in all languages and knowledge ;]) tells me vilja means grain or cereal in Finnish, which makes sense given the color. In Old Norse, it is a verb meaning “to want”. I desperately want these mittens, so it’s fitting. I hope it’s correct, haha.
