My own design.
When it started to look good on paper I wanted to give the elephants a test ride and decided to do a swatch: These socks.
When I went through my stash these WM colours caught my eye. I liked them all and could not decide which one to use as background. So I ended up using all of them, thus the idea of the stripes.
Well into the project I realised that the sudden change of heart and the decision to do stripes somehow defeated what I had in mind when drawing the chart. 
You can see that the elephants and diamonds come too close to the colour changes. This would have been ok if I had only used one single background colour. 
However, I did finish the pair anyway and I really like the socks in spite of that placing mistake. The socks are a draft and drafts are rarely perfect, right?

I also really like the idea of the stripes, so I am currently changing the chart to allow for stripes.
The intend for this design was actually for childrens garments and not socks. (I think the stripes and elephants will work better on a larger item.)

Up until now I have been making charts of my own a couple of times, but only to adjust existing charts and motives for my needs. The elephants are my first motives I made from the very scratch. It came all from my head. Yay!!!

I will make a pattern for these, but with a refined chart.

(Also: I totally fell in love with the Frosch colourway. I need more Frosch in my stash…)
