Notes

These yarns are elegant separately and together. A dream to design with!

This is a fun project, partly because it’s fast, partly because you can just start and keep going, and deal with the armholes after. Whenever you want, because without armholes, it’s a wonderful wrap. You just make one teensy cut in the skinny yarn and unravel enough stitches to open an armhole. It’s not scary because the mohair sticks to itself enough to give you total control.

So what it means is you can keep crocheting until you use up as much of your yarn as you wish, THEN place your armholes where you wish, THEN edge the armholes with as many rounds as you wish.

This is easy double-ended crochet because alternating the two different yarns makes it obvious when to slide your stitches down to the other hooked end and when not to.

I should have called it “Freedom Vest” because of this and ALSO because it feels weightless to wear and is just warm enough without the mohair sticking too close to the skin ever. Or, “Free to Be, Or Not to Be, a Vest.”
