Mods:

• Knit 6 rows of garter stitch (bound off on the 7th) at the bottom of the body.

• Knit four rounds of stockinette after picking up sleeve stitches so that lace pattern progressed properly.

• Started the lace chart (rows 1-10) at the third box for the sleeve for the right arm (skipped the first two stitches in the chart) when working in the round so that the lace motifs lined up correctly.

• Used lace chart (rows 11-20) starting with the fourth box for the sleeve for the left arm.

• Used Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off when binding off the sleeves. They definitely needed stretchy edges.

Gauge: 8 stitches = 1 inch on size 4 needles

3/19/12: Time for another sweater for Eva!. I’m using fingering yarn instead of doubled lace, and I chose a pink color because I want it to look extra girly. :)

3/19/12 (2): I can’t get gauge (of course) so this is going to turn out much smaller than a 12 month size. That’s okay because Eva will be 5 to 6 months when she starts wearing it, and she’s not a large baby for her age. I hope it blocks out well. :/

3/20/12: Finished the garter yoke. Beginning lace portion.

3/21/12: Split the body from the sleeves. It’s starting to look like an actual sweater!

3/23/12: Made it to the garter edging on the bottom. I’m considering doing less than 9 rows so the bottom edging will match the sleeve edging.

3/24/12: Finished! Will be blocking tomorrow. I love how it turned out, but if I were to knit it again, I wouldn’t bother with the decreases at the bottom of the sleeves. I think I would have preferred them a little wider.
