6/5/2012 - I originally knitted the Back to School Vest (Stephanie Japel’s Fitted Knits) with this yarn. But it turned out I should have listened to my gut, which told me all those ribs and all that waffle stitch would make me look fat.
After a couple of wears, I ripped it all back and have started this new pullover with it.
I’m following the original pattern because, although I would prefer to have the low neckline at the front not the back, I can’t figure out how to get the cables started on th right part of the garment.
I do love this paua blue colour, and it feels nice too.
23/6/2012 - surprisingly, this has turned out to be a really quick knit - maybe because I’ve enjoyed knitting so much. What a contrast to the dreaded “It comes in waves”, which has not come along much at all! The pattern was easy to follow and had almost no confusing insructions. and it fits.
My top has gingery-yellow ribbing on the cap sleeves and hem, and has the cable pattern on front and back. I will have a photo once I’ve block the waviness out of it (which is due to my having used yarn unravelled from another failed Stephanie Japel project).
29/6/2012 - wore it twice even though I still haven’t blocked it. The waviness adds texture and chunkiness to the overall look but other than that (and the sleeves being very slightly narrower than they need to be) I’m really happy with the finished product.
4/9/2012 - just wanted to add that since the photo was taken I’ve washed it and all the loopiness (from it having been unravelled from a previous project) has come out. so it’s it’s a bit longer and much smoother. A big improvement.
