Going slowly as I’ve not knitted bobbles before, but am enjoying seeing the colours come up on this variegated yarn.
Although it’s a DK, the yarn seems really fine in diameter. My gauge seemed right though, but the sleeve I knitted seems quite tight fitting.
But I’m sick of accidentally knitting tops too large, so I plan to keep going with this size. If it turns out to be too small I’ll just knit a couple of gussets to enlarge the whole thing!
I’ll resist frogging because this is quite a hairy, sticky yarn. Frogging just causes knots.
28/1/2012 - all this moss stitch is driving me crazy. I think it might be giving me repetitive strain injury too.
28/2/2012 - finished! In the end I did have to knit a couple of gussets to make the sleeves bigger, but it is the right size everywhere else. I think from now on I will just choose the size that is closest to my actual bust measurement. I really like the finished product, but I’m not sure that it’s actually a flattering colour for my hair and skin tone.
Also, all that texture is a teensy bit chubby-izing, although - let’s face it - it had it’s work cut out there.
And I think I wore the wrong t-shirt under the cardigan for the final photo. Maybe if it were plain black…
It was a good pattern, though there’s no chart so to start with I made a lot of mistakes and couldn’t tell until I’d already knitted several rows. I quite enjoy knitting bobbles now!
