Notes

7/4/2015 - Once I had finished all of the pieces I sewed up the shoulders and put it on my other half (who will be wearing this) to check for size. It was flipping’ enormous. Lengthwise, fine. Widthwise, an over-the-top Eighties over-sizedness that I didn’t like at all. He didn’t either.

So when I mattress-stitched it all up, I took it in by about 3 inches all around the body and about 1 1/2 - 2 inches around the sleeves.

It is still a bit on the baggy side, but he likes it so I’m not touching it.

22/3/2015 - Finished all the separate pieces and now knitting the collar. It is very slow going as the cotton makes my wrists tired and I have to pay attention (i.e. can’t watch tv while knitting) so that I don’t stuff up the patterning.

It’s also really heavy.

18/8/2014 - have finished the front plus half of a sleeve.

11/3/2014 - I was so disappointed when I found out that my printed doesn’t do enlargements! I’m making do peering at the chart, and with the help of many stitch markers and numbering every set of 10 stitches it is just manageable. It will be a long, slow knit I think.

1/3/2014- Ordered last week but have to wait until they restock. The cost of the yarn really adds up when you buy enough for a man’s garment.
