Notes

I made two hats as present for a friend who gave me her yarn stash before heading back overseas to Europe.

The reddish one was made from Patons Wilderness, using instructions for size small. I was getting 13.5 sts per 10cm. In the instructions it says to repeat the pattern until the work is 6” from cast-on, ending on round 7. However when I had got to 6” I had already finished two whole pattern repeats. That’s why the hat is a bit too tall - there are 2.5 pattern repeats before the crown decreases start.

The yellow/green hat was knit using three different wool yarns. They would be maybe 4 ply or could be a light DK. They weren’t labelled so this is just an educated guess.
My stitch gauge was the same as for the Patons version, but the row gauge (which I never bother to measure) must have been different because I got to the 6” milestone at exactly round 7.

As you can see the stitch definition is way better with the Patons yarn, but the shape turned out way better with the triple mystery yarn.
