Testing this child’s sweater pattern but knitting at a looser gauge to get an adult size.

Knitting at 17 st = 4” for approx. 41”. Want to knit in linen, I estimate I’ll need about 400g MC and 150g CC.

Knit to 6” before arm shaping, which was probably too long. 5.5” would have been better.

Picked up 76 stitches around armhole.

That was just a disaster. Armholes way too long, too many stitches picked up around the armhole as well, loose and floppy fabric. (All my fault, not the fault of the pattern.) Wasn’t loving my color choices either. Starting over with my new linen yarn at a gauge of 18 st and 26 rows per 4” on 4mm needles.

The new yarn worked out much better although my armholes still ended up rather large. I blocked out my sleeves to be much narrower and longer -- off the needles they were quite wide and short. Pleased with this one, very summery and not my typical colors but still works with my other clothes!
