Notes

Good grief, did these really take me FIVE MONTHS to knit?

I knitted these two-at-a-time on 2.75mm circular needles. The pattern wasn’t that difficult, as long as you paid attention to the charts. However, I found that the sizing wasn’t great for me. The foot was slightly too short, and the sock was also fairly tight around my foot. So after knitting both of them all the way to the heel, I frogged them back to the toes and started over. I did extra increases to add in 8 extra stitches, then also lengthened the toe a bit before starting the pattern. (The extra stitches were just added to the plain section on the bottom of the foot. I had to adjust the heel slightly to take them into account; then they just continued up the back of the leg.) I did the 5 repeats of the lace chart on the leg and then knitted 2x2 ribbing until I was close to the end of my wool. Then I did Elizabeth Zimmerman’s sewn cast-off around the tops.

Note: These photos are in no way true to the colour of the yarn. It’s just the most intense blue-green I’ve ever seen, with distinct hues of jade, kelly green, and teal. It was absolutely beautiful to knit with.
