This was one of my entries for the 2015 Sydney Royal Easter Show knitting competition. Since I hate sewing up, I knitted the body in one piece on a circular needle (dividing once I got to the arm holes). I also knitted each sleeve in the round until I got up to the sleeve cap. That way the only seams are at the shoulders (three-needle bind off) and then to set in each sleeve. No other pattern mods other than making the body and sleeves a bit longer!
