Knitted for my neighbour’s new baby.

The pattern is not difficult, except for the fact that it includes no charts and no schematics so it’s incredibly hard to visualise what the pattern will be or whether you’ve made a mistake. Why can’t patterns be written with CHARTS? GAHH.

Anyway -- I modified this to be knitted as much as possible in the round. I knitted the body in the round until the start of the yoke patterning, and then went back and forth on each side separately. Next I mattress-stitched the right shoulder together and then followed the instructions for the button bands and collar. For the sleeves, I picked up around the armhole openings (going through both layers of the overlapped button band on the left sleeve) and then just reversed the instructions (decreasing instead of increasing) down to the wrists.

I had enough left over from the 3rd ball to knit a little matching hat too!
