Found this skein of handspun I bought years ago, and decided, since I’m experimenting with hats now, this might make good experiment material.
Tested gauge with size 9, 8, and 7; though the yarn is thick, I like the tighter fabric to block out wind. But result isn’t as floppy as I’d like.
Used Woolly Wormhead’s alternate cable cast-on, worked 1x1 ribbing, then stockinette until piece was 10 inches. Grafted top closed, then pulled corners inside and attached for “envelope finish.”
