Pattern tip: since each row at the crown is two stitches shorter than the last, turn, work 1 stitch, and place a marker. When you get to the marker on the next pass, remove it, turn, work a stitch, and replace it.

I wanted the rows 6 and 18 to go a little farther up the body of the hat, so worked 16 instead of 10 stitches past the brim before turning.
