Project info
Aeolian Shawl by Elizabeth Freeman
Knitting
Neck / TorsoShawl / Wrap
can I really give this away?
shawlette
Needles & yarn
US 4 - 3.5 mm
handspun merino
Light Fingering
0.9 skeins = 393.7 yards (360.0 meters)
Notes

Spun up nearly 400m of handdyed (by me) merino top. Hoping to get a whole shawlette out of it.
The cast on is a beast! Slippery needles and slippery yarn and beads! But we are past the cast on, it is history.
160210 - finished the four repeats of the yucca chart, used ~20% of the yarn by weight. (hard to tell exactly due to needles, beads and a certain inconsistency of spinning!)
1702 - into the transition chart
1802 - starting the edge set up charts. Brain is hurting putting three different charts together, but that’s ok - soon it will have to deal with the edging chart!
2002 - into the final edging chart. Brain is hurting a bit still. At row 35, I have approx 140m of yarn left. Hope it is enough!
2302 - cast off and blocking. Preblocked size - 36 X 81cm or 14 x 32”. Blocked size - 50cm X 140cm across the widest point. Must get those pics edited and up :-)
I had yarn left over from my 400m hank, probably about 40m all up.
Also I used 5, 7 and 9 stitch nupps in different places, 7 stitch nupps were the best size for my yarn. 5 was too little/invisible and 9 made enormous balls on my shawl! LOL
