Garter stitch swatch on US10 (6mm):
3sts per inch
5.5 rows per inch.
Gauge called for on US10 (6mm) in garter:
3.5sts per inch
Going by the 34/36” for the back piece and sleeves.
Going by the 38/40” for the circular section.
10/13/2013 - Sleeve one finished! The cuff mod worked great! Had to CO with the regular needle since I didn’t have other needles with me. Used backward loop CO as cuff mod notes say to. At the end I left the live stitches on the needle, picked up 17sts from the cuff CO and grafted together to make it appear seamless. It’s time to get the second sleeve started.
10/10/2013 - Thinking about doing the sleeve cuff modification to add a cable instead of the garter stitch along the lines of what savvyminx did with hers.
10/8/2013 - Started first sleeve.
10/4/2013 - Body done with ends woven in.
9/26/2013 - I found some unplyed singles on bobbins at home. I’m going to ply them up and see how much extra yarn that gets me.
9/25/2013 - Had to stop 6 rows left from finishing the body. In order to have 2 fresh cakes of yarn for the sleeves, I am using the yarn that I spun when sampling the fleece and swatching for the pattern to finish the body so I don’t have to break into those yarn cakes. I’m also pretty sure that I didn’t maintain joining to the back rectangle piece 3 out of 4 stitches and would have used less yarn if i was more diligent about that.
9/17/2013 - Started joining to the top of the back rectangle closing the second sleeve opening at knit night! The body is getting huge and it’s like having a blanket it my lap.
9/10/2013 - Worked across the bottom and now working on the second sleeve opening.
8/24/2013 - Got back into a groove since I want to wear this at Rhinebeck 2013!
10/2/2012 - Going around the bottom.
9/30/2012 - Before going to bed last night I got the circular section to the bottom of the rectangle and another wedge done.
9/24/2012 - On the second wedge. It’s starting to pick up steam
9/11/2012 - Finished the first section before the first wedge.
9/5/2012 - Back piece is done and blocking! It seems to be the correct size that I need it to be not the size I’m knitting.
8/31/2012 - Decided to do this as part of the KAL being hosted from Sept 1 - December 1.
8/30/2012 - Per some helpful answers to my posts in her forum, Joji has suggested that I follow the 34/36 for the back piece and sleeves and the 38/40 for the body while making sure that anything relating directly to size goes by my actual measurements.
