My designing began a long time ago when I would change the patterns I was working on. Unfortunately the people within my influence range did not encourage any changes whatsoever so I did not do a lot of changes and not encouragement to explore designing new designs. My first design was a sweater for my husband. He had specifics in what he wanted but I could not find it so I found a recipe for how to make a sweater and started knitting. It has a few glitches but is very wearable. After that journey I discovered lace knitting and the design of lace. I am still very much a learner on designing but am having a lot of fun with it!

My favorite design so far has been La Sarita. This is such a fun wearable shawlette and so flexible in the design, it can be made larger or smaller more shallow or deeper so easily. La Esperanza is an exploration in designing new edgings, it is so flirty! Spring Fiesta is a side to side shawl where I wanted to knit the technique but did not like the patterns I had seen. Sea Dragon was a stitch pattern that I found online and screamed to be a crescent shaped shawl.

The hats in my store are created out of boredom! I get so tired of making multiples of items in the same design. Haylie’s Hat has been such a huge hit with my family that I get requests for that often. The crown decreases create a more head shaped fabric that the wearers love!

Each of my designs has a different starting point in the process but each one is so lovely and wearable.

I love exploring the new patterns and Ravelry and looking at stitch designs. Each project that I knit gives me new ideas and thoughts on designing. Anticipate in the future that I will have more designs with lace and with multi-color projects.
