I live on the Avalon Peninsula, one of my favourite places in the world. I love writing patterns and designing, puzzles and mysteries, and simply complex and complexly simple things. I just do what I do and my designs tend to be adventures in knitting and I hope you have fun. Every single one of my designs is handcrafted with my own hands and human brain without machine knitting and without AI. I grew up in Sidney, Deep Cove, and Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island but Newfoundland and Labrador is where I call home. I used to be Jennifer McLarty before Steven Beale magically stumbled into my life, have a B.Sc. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics at the University of Victoria, M.Sc. in Physical Oceanography at Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a Ph.D in Atmospheric Science at York University. Once upon a time I was a fog-loving atmospheric scientist, but after our little Basil boy was born, this is * wear * I’ve ended up: designing handknits in the land of fog instead of researching fog in the land of fog :)

We all need to throw our egos out the window. It’s our universe. Everything is connected, everything, everywhere, and more than we realize as a whole. We’re all little parts of the source of everything, and our interactions affect the balance in all that we do. I chose to live on this beautiful Earth, in this beautiful place of St. John’s Newfoundland, always working to push the balance toward the positive. Because that is how we grow.
