I’m in the process of transitioning from SweaterGoddess to KnittingInTheWild, so please bear with me while I figure out how to change everything. :)
I live off the grid on 15 acres of Southwest High Desert. Every day I haul water, make my coffee on a camp stove, hike with my cats, and knit. This lifestyle isn’t always easy, but it’s a wonderful opportunity to slow down and observe the world around me. It is a privilege to see the natural world in a new way, and one day when I move on to other things, I hope I can always carry some of the wildness I’ve discovered here with me.
Needless to say, my knitting is very much inspired by nature. I’m also fascinated by folk art - we humans have a long and wonderful history of beautifying and decorating our clothing, homes, and the things we use every day. Much of folk art is inspired by nature, and I love seeing how people in the past translated their experience of the natural world into design.
