I’m a member of a woman’s cooperative called New View FiberWorks - Home of the Fuzzy Farmers (a women’s cooperative of fiber enthusiasts in Southern Maryland) where we encourage people to “Upgrade to Handmade.”

Artistic crafts have always been a huge part of my life. As a young child, I learned to crochet from my Grandmother. I’ve also spent time doing embroidery, needlepoint, sewing, craft painting, candle making, braiding, card making, origami, photography, quilling, jewelry making and book folding.

While I spent some time working on crochet projects while growing up, and later in college (my degree is in Civil Engineering), I didn’t devote much time to it until the 2000s. Since then, I’ve won a considerable number of awards for my work. I enjoy incorporating unusual materials (wire, nylon cord from the hardware store, upcycled sweaters, upcycled denim) in my creations.

I started writing crochet patterns in 2015. My very first pattern (called Oh, Honey! Spa Cloth), released on Ravelry in March 2015, was a Crochet Awards (aka the Flamies) Judges Nominee.

I enjoy partnering with Indie dyers to create patterns that highlight their artistic creations.
