Swanky socks that won’t be left unnoticed
Contrast Socks combine a decorative colorwork pattern with geometric shapes for a swanky overall impact. The colorwork sections are worked from the charts using Invisible Stranding technique to catch the long floats. The pattern includes helpful tips for colorwork knitting.
The socks are knitted in the round starting with Old Norwegian Cast-on / German Twisted Cast-on followed by a 1 x 1 rib for the cuff. After the colorwork for the leg, the reinforced French heel is worked. And finally, after the colorwork for the foot and the last monochrome rounds, the last stiches of the foot are bound off using Kitchener Stitch.
Techniques

Sizes
Two adult sizes with finished sock measurements of
Foot circumference 19.5 (22) cm / 7 ¾ (8 ¾) inches
Heel - toe length 23 (25.5) cm / 9 ¼ (10) inches
Cuff - bottom of the heel height 20 (21.5) cm / 8 (8 ½) inches
Choose a size that gives around 1 cm / ½ inches of negative ease in foot circumference. If in between sizes, choose the larger size. The foot length is adjustable and aim for 1.3 cm / ½” shorter sock foot length than the actual foot length.
