Explore fairy magic at the intersection of color and texture when you cast on the Fairy Correspondence crescent shawl. This pattern allows you to create an artful shawl that will add a touch of enchantment to your wardrobe.

Why you will love this pattern:

Using three colors gives your imagination room to soar. Use neutrals with a pop of bright color or make it a color party - this shawl will delight you either way.

While the shawl includes 3 colors, no more than 2 are used on any given row.

The instructions are fully written out; one section also includes a chart.

Stitch counts are provided any time there is a change and closeup photos of the stitch patterns are included in the pattern, so you’ll know you are on track every step of the way.

Bonus fun at the end: The pattern also gives you an option to return to your favorite stitch pattern at the end and increase the size of the shawl. Separate instructions are included for each bonus option.

Extras:

This pattern was originally a mystery knitalong, released in sections which each had part of an accompanying story. The story is included here as a separate file.

Also included: a guide to using Ravelry chat threads and how to post your pattern on Ravelry.

Yarn
Fingering/ sock yarn, two 100g skeins in coordinating tonals (C1 and C2) + two 20g mini skeins of a single contrast color (C3). .

The sample was made using Jilly and Kiddles Fancy Sock, a 85% superwash Merino/ 15% nylon with 437 yards/ 400 meters per 100 grams.

Needles and notions
US 6/ 4.0 mm or size to obtain gauge. This shawl is worked flat, but a long (60”/ 150 cm) circular needle is recommended so that you can spread out the stitches as the shawl grows in size.
You will also need 20 stitch markers and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends. Small loops of yarn may be used if you do not have enough stitch markers.

Level of difficulty
Advanced beginner/intermediate. Stitch patterns include simple lace using yarn overs; textured stitches; and some colorwork. Most of the repeats are short and easy to memorize. While the shawl includes 3 colors, no more than 2 are used on any given row.

Knitting support: Designer email is included in the pattern in case you have questions.
