I finished this a month ago but never got around to posting pics. Hopefully the baby fits them at 3 wks!

For the first four rounds, I followed soleila’s modifications almost exactly. Then I reverted to the pattern and made shells for a total of five rounds. So it goes something like this:

R1: Begin magic ring, chain 2, 12 DC in magic ring. Join to first stitch, not the chain 2 sts, and chain 2.

R2: 2 DC in every st. Join & ch 2.

R3: 2 DC in st, 1 DC in next st. Repeat from. Join & ch 2.

R4: DC in next 8 sts, 2 DC in next st. Repeat from. Join & ch 3.

Beginning here, follow R8 as instructed and then repeat R9 four times, for a total of 5 shell st rows.

Note, when joining old shell st row to new shell st row, join to ch 3 st and not the chain space.

Sc around for two rounds to finish off, as instructed in original pattern.
