Notes

I was surprised to see that this used worsted yarn with size 3 needles. Started this using the Armenian method of tacking the stranded knitting (tutorial by Euny Jang is linked in pattern, but also available to anyone). Tacking every other stitch. The other method is to use Ladder-Back Jacquard (tutorial by Sockmatician available on YouTube). I may consider using this for long floats in the main body of the pillow, but the flecks of brown in back of the gold that I get using the Armenian method don’t seem noticeable in these early rows. We’ll see.

Decided to use the Armenian tacking method rather than the ladder-back jacquard. It is making a dense fabric that will be perfect for a pillow. I’m now finished with the main body of colorwork and just have the last edge. I made a mistake (missing brown stitch) on the face of the rabbit that I’ll correct with a duplicate stitch. There is also an errant brown stitch near one of the bee legs. This one I’ll go back to correct. I think I should be able to ladder down and fix it (about 8 rows down). If not, I’ll rip back to fix it. It’s not too far back. I tried to catch mistakes and fix them as I went, but these two slipped through. The colorwork was fun and rhythmic. I can’t wait to do the blanket! I hope to steek and sew the pillow in the next two weeks.
