Cast on 144 stitches instead of 130 since I am using Sport rather than worsted weight. Pattern doesn’t have any color work. Both sides are solid. I’m experimenting with some color work on the hat just to practice and get the feel of switching between colors.

This is definitely a small hat. I’m almost to the point where I will do the crown decreases. My extra 14 stitches didn’t get it to the point where it would fit an adult head. But that’s ok. It will be a charity hat project. It has been great practice. I can tell that double knitting would be faster for me if I were a continental knitter who could easily purl continental. I can knit that way, but haven’t mastered the purling. Need to decide whether to go that direction or to just double knit more slowly in my normal way (throwing).
