This scarf is large enough to wear over the head and tie at neck and is large enough to wear as a small shawl. Its a welcome addition to my winter wardrobe as i live in the Adstock hills-Ski country and we get lots and lots of snow and cold winds. The pattern makes for easy knitting on the go. Knit in 2 sections with the cast off edges grafted together.
scarf measures: 17’’ inches wide X 48’’ long

A multiple of 12+1 with a 12 row rep.
Cast on 97 sts
The pattern:
1: K4 rows.
5: (rs) K1, (k2tog) twice, (yf,k1)3 times, yf, (sl1, k1, psso)twice, K1; rep from to end.
6: Purl
rep last 2 rows 3 times more then rep all 12 rows another 13 times.

Put sts onto holder and cast on for the next section, rep as for 1st section.
When 2nd section is complete put all sts onto 2 straight needles and graft the sts together.

I knit this scarf before in 100% qiviut used 4 balls of 2 ply lace weight and it was really nice in natural colored qiviut.
