Notes

I love admiring the beautiful trees when wondering the paths at Salem’s Bush’s Pasture Park. It was a blustery, cold day there yesterday as I sat on the bleachers after my walk to eat lunch between appointments. I thought about this lovely pattern and was wishing I already had it finished, but truth be told, I had barely completed half of the ribbed band at that time. I knew the rest of the ribbing would go fast though; and once that was finished, the colorwork portion of this hat would quickly fly off my needles.

Used US size 5 needles for both the ribbing and colorwork, and worked the band in 1 x 1 rib rather than 2 x 2 for a more snug fit. CO for the 19-3/4” finished size but worked ribbed band height shorter - as if for the smaller size.

Colorwork hats made with worsted weight yarns always knit up unbelievably fast - and are so very warm - perfect for blustery winter days.

Pom pom in yellow …

Loving it!!! A very pretty hat. And super fun to wear!
