Absolutely adore the colorwork design of this pattern!
Needed a fast project for a winter weekend on the coast, one that would use up some of my many leftover bits and bobs from other colorwork projects. All yarns are either Jamieson & Smith 2-ply jumper weight (my favorite yarn for colorwork!) or Knitpicks Palette (perhaps my second favorite, or at least the most readily available to me in a vast array of colors and okay for colorwork).
Used smaller needles than pattern suggested as I have small hands and pattern is written for only one size, namely a 7-1/2” hand, and mine is 6-1/2”. I really like the colorwork design used on the palm side of these. I prefer a thumb gusset to after-thought, but even with the smaller needles, the thumb fits well, so after-thought thumb it is.
Worked only 24 rows k2, p2 cuff ribbing. Unsure of the yardage of this pretty marine blue I am using, so there’s a wee (maybe more than wee!) bit of worry about running out of this yarn if I made the cuff 4” as suggested in the pattern … though for this pattern, I really would adore the longer cuff. Must add another pair of these to my “to knit” list (it’s a mile long however!) and when I get to making that pair, will select a main color of which I have ample yardage.
Making shorty half fingers.
In sharing a progress photo in a text with my daughter, referring to the chart I was following, she said at first she thought I was playing Tetris. Hahaha, game player that she is, her mother is not … and had to google Tetris to see what she was talking about. So now I know! Hahahahaha.
