The author’s decreases result in a pointed peak that wasn’t entirely appealing to me. I wanted a slightly faster decrease, and somewhat less of a peak happening. I did an ssk five times each decrease round, spaced evenly apart. Less peak, and I like the spiral in.

The fiddly bits--and sewing them on the cap--take nearly the same amount of time as knitting the cap.
