Don’t worry about gauge on this project. Try to be loose and it will work out great. This is really a gauge less project and when you stretch it out the magic happens.

the first picture is a way that you can wear it after you stretch it out to the broomstick look re-stretch it back to the original shape by pulling on the edges and this will flare out the edges and make it shorter. you can them wear it as a cowl.
