73 grams of Ross and 88 grams of Black Isle yarns to start. 12 and 75 grams left respectively.

Black Isle WPI leans towards DK rather than sport.

Rows 35-38 are confusing but I believe on row 35 you knit the last two stiches before the marker together, row 36 is a straight stockinette row, row 37 k2tog are all done before the marker and row 37 is straight stockinette. The rest of the decrease rows don’t have a stockinette row in between decreases, so I may rip back and redo those last chart rows to exclude the stockinette row and end the chart with a row 36; i think it’s tall enough with out the two extra rows.

I kept the stockinette rows in, but the cap could be a little shorter. I can fold the brim, but that’s pretty narrow.

Thoughts on the 1/1 cross feature. I love it but unless your yarn has an excellent stitch definition I don’t know that it’s worth it. My crosses are pretty much lost in the yarn. They’re fiddly to do given that most 1/1 cross rows also have colorwork.

I’ll work up this hat again in a more saturated yarn. I’d love to be able to see that detail.
