Used a US 1, 2.25mm 9” circular for both working them concurrently. 72 st. cast on. Worked 1x1 rib for about an inch then knit until I was happy with the cuff/leg. I placed additional marker to have 36 on top and bottom. I added 1 st every 6 sts to top of foot. Worked 2 rounds then started heel flap with back 36 letting the 41 on top rest.
On the right side followed the sl 1 k1 directions and on the purl side I slipped the first st pw then p across.
Worked heel turn as directed.

On the gusset pick up I picked up an additional st on both sides to eliminate any holes.

On the gusset decreases I moved my markers adding 2 sts on either side from the top of foot to add 2 decreases on both sides. This left 37 sts on top of foot. When gusset decreases finished I knit 16 then ssk by sl 1 kw, sl 1pw, k2tbl. Left with 36 top and 36 bottom.
