Over a period of a month or so, I had fun making one or two flowers an evening and squaring them off into filet crochet stitch squares to piece together as a sampler. All of the flowers are three-dimensional; they come from various free patterns on the Web and a few purchased patterns, and I improvised a couple of them myself. I really like the border, which is No. 24 from Edie Eckman’s book, “Around the Corner Crocheted Borders.” Most of the yarn (worsted weight) is from my stash; the main color is Michael’s Impeccable, color Heather.
I’m not thrilled with the overall look, but I did enjoy making all those different flowers, from mum to hibiscus to poppy to roses.
