These flowers are delightfully dimensional (the rose even has some stuffing in the center). A couple of them are a little challenging, but it helped to use markers to know where to work stitches in tight places. And, I had to relearn French knots from my old embroidery days to create flower centers. My afghan didn’t turn out as large as the pattern’s, so I used a border from Edie Eckman’s book, Around the Corner, to create a wider one. Though the forget-me-nots required making seven separate little flowers for each FMN square and sewing them on, I love the way they look. Most of the yarn was from my stash; the off-white background is an El Cheapo brand from Hobby Lobby.
Flower Colors:
I Love This Yarn -- light peach
Red Heart -- Periwinkle (think that’s the name, maybe it’s Skipper Blue, Frosty Green, Soft White)
Lion One Pound -- pink
