Used leftover stash yarn, sport weight, to make the pumpkins, and some leftover green worsted to make the stems.

Instead of making a tiny tube for the stem, I ch6, then crocheted flat for 6-8 rows, folding in half and slip stitching a seam over top and side.

I used the long end of orange yarn left from making the pumpkin ridges to sew the stems in place. Instead of stuffing the stems with polyfill, I tucked the loose yarn ends inside them, after leaving them longer than usual. That worked out fine.

I used leftover scraps of quilt batting for the stuffing, and used a metal tapestry needle for the sewing of the ridges, because my longer plastic needle wasn’t sharp enough to shove through the whole pumpkin when stuffed. If you make a larger version of these, you will need a longer tapestry needle, and definitely don’t overstuff them.
