Final update: Washed and blocked. Final measurements are 75” tip to tip, 54” along a side, and 36” deep. Presentation to recipients is on Memorial Day. Can’t wait!
Will take more pics of them trying it on. :)

Can’t wait to get started. The yarn feels absolutely luscious! Using Dyna-Mites seed beads, glass, opaque ceylon pastel white, #8 round.
Pattern is easy to read, and repeat sections of each charted row are easy to memorize - only 6 or 12 stitches per repeat, and they are symettrical as well.
First section of young leaves already finished and looking great! Had to rip it out once, because #5 circs were way too big for this yarn. (I knit very tightly, so I typically go up 2 sizes.) Not to mention, blunt metal needles make lacework very hard! Continuing with bamboo circs in size 3. Started with 16”, now up to 24”, will probably need my 40” set by the end.
Using a lifeline. Once at the beginning of each repeat in the first section, now every 4th charted row (8 rows). A little bit of work, as my bamboo circs don’t have a lifeline hole, but worth it for peace of mind.
I hate nupps. Using a crochet hook to do them, 7 loops on hook & pull through.
Putting on the beads isn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. Using a #12 steel crochet hook, and it fits nicely in the beads. Finished up through row 35; nupps don’t look spectacular, but will do. Beads look very nice!

Finished the first repeat of chart 2. Had to rip out a couple times. Moved lifeline to every 2 charted rows. Looks good with the beads.️

Almostfinished with 4th repeat of chart 2. I will do 5 in total before starting chart 3.

Finished the bind off today. Need to weave in the ends, wash & block. Used surprisingly stretchy bind off on the RS. Did 6x chart 1, 5x chart w, 1x chart 3. Very pleased with the results!

The yarn is actually slightly off white. I was holding the finished shawl next to another project - a crocheted doily in white cotton - and it is a markedly different shade. By itself, you can barely tell, though, even in good light.
