Painted warp - slightly different stripe pattern, different weft color. Will try 18 EPI/PPI and see if it still has a nice drape/handle without having to beat so slowly.
Also blocked the yarn after dyeing.
Of-loom pre wet finishing: 11” x 78”
Post wet-finishing: 10” x 72”
ca. 9% take-up/shrinkage in width
ca. 7.5% take-up/shrinkage in length
Much easier to keep an even beat, although it may still have been a little too tight - I was measuring pretty close to 18 PPI, but I’ll see what the take-up & shrinkage is like. There was a bigger difference in lengthwise take-up than widthwise in the last scarf. I’m hoping the blocking of both warp and weft in this one has reduced that disparity a bit.
I also think the large shortfall in weft as calculated might be accounted for by having had a slightly denser PPI than I’d calculated for, despite my best effort. I rounded up by a full oz+ this time, and have nearly 23g left. We’ll see how I like the handle of 18 EPI when wet finishing is done.
