I love this pattern! It is surprisingly easy and super cute. I tried this pattern once before, but it didn’t turn out quite right because I foolishly used a different yarn than what the instructions recommended. Then, a few days ago, I met up with a friend who had this exact bag--color and all. So I decided to resurrect the project and make my own.

I did truncate the girth a little bit. I thought that I was going to run out of yarn, so I crocheted roughly eight rows less than indicated in the pattern for the body of the bag. This of course changed the handle flap portion of the pattern, but I just improvised and it turned out just peachy keen.

Then all I need to do was attach some handles and a cute little crochet flower.
(The bottom photo shows me working on the finishing touches while taking the train to visit my grandparents.)

P.S. It--as my friend demonstrated for me this weekend--can also be worn as a hat. You’d just look like a Star Wars Flapper girl, but it is entirely possible. And, as if that wasn’t awesome enough, it can also help you tame a shark and looks great on an abominable snowman.
