Notes

Modifications:

  • I chose US13 instead of the suggested US17 and the width is 54” using pattern as written.

  • Slipped Edge: (see close-up pictures) slipped the last stitch of each row with yarn held in front. I like the nice smooth chain border this creates. Just make sure the first stitch of each row is a tad large so the edge doesn’t pull.

Notes for next time:

  • Pattern, as written, is 9 repeats. I think 8 repeats would give me 48” width, which would be a nice size.

  • See chart in Excel

  • The M1 suggested in the pattern is lovely, but would be even nicer if I had used mirrored increases (M1 right and M1 left). I’ll know better next time. I realized it too far into the knitting. Its not a BIG deal … but would be even nicer to have used the mirrored increases.

HINT: INDEX CARDS
I retyped the pattern and put directions for one row on each index card with the repeat on a separate line. I found a little flip book for index cards and put them in there! Works great!!!!! I’ll be knitting on a 6 hour drive, so I took everything out to the car to try it out. I’ll be sitting in the back seat with Mom. Pinned that on the back of the headrest. Voila!

7/26 - Half done. Working up nicely

8/9 - 3/4 done

8/23 - done. Used 7 skeins. I had half of the last two of 8 skeins remaining.

8/24 - Picture day!
